Local Organizations Announce Community Pet Drive— 07 / 04 / 2016
JOHNSTOWN, PA (April 5, 2016) – Two Johnstown organizations are teaming up to help the Humane Society of Cambria County with a “Cinco De Meow” pet supply drive scheduled for the week of May 4th. Para-Coat Technologies (PCT) and Alleghenies Unlimited Care Providers (AUCP) have joined forces to open their doors to fellow community members who are interested in recycling and donating new and used pet supplies to make sure the Humane Society is stocked with everything it needs.
“So many families, including my own, have adopted additional family members from the local humane society,” Krista Rager, CEO of PCT states. “It means a lot to us to hold this supply drive and give back to an organization that has changed our life for the better.”
Para-Coat Technologies is a conformal coating company located on Franklin Street which supplies the medical, automotive, aerospace and defense industries with high-quality conformal coating. “Many of the organizations we often serve are located outside of this area,” Rager explains. “This is one project we enjoy that really focuses on our hometown.”
AUCP is a nonprofit which provides in-home, non-medical care to individuals of varying abilities within a 13-county span in Western Pennsylvania. “We employ over 250 caregivers and work with almost 300 clients,” Tasha Adams, Development and Media of AUCP states. “We see selfless acts on a daily basis and often look for simple ways to get more involved in the community; projects all of the individuals we work with and for can be involved in,” Adams explains. “Teaming up with PCT is amazing because our organizations have completely different missions yet we’re coming together for one specific, home-based goal,” Adams states.
PCT and AUCP will be collecting drop-off donations from Monday May 2 through Friday May 6 at each of their locations. PCT, 817 Franklin Street, will be collecting from 7:30AM to 4:00PM Monday-Friday and AUCP, 119 Jari Drive, from 8:00AM to 4:00PM Monday-Friday. The Cambria County Humane Society is in need of monetary donations as well as new and used items; including pet food, cleaning supplies, latex gloves, and non-clumping cat litter.
